Buying an ATM
- How much does an ATM machine cost in Canada?
- New commercial ATMs generally cost between C$2,000 and C$5,000, and tested refurbished ATMs start around C$2,450. At ATM4Canada, the new Nautilus Hyosung Halo II starts at C$3,950 and refurbished machines start at C$2,450.
- Where can I buy an ATM machine in Canada?

- Can I buy an ATM machine for my business?
- Yes. Any Canadian business can buy and own an ATM. You keep the surcharge revenue the machine generates on every withdrawal.
- Do you ship ATM machines across Canada?
- Yes. We ship ATM machines Canada-wide. Shipping is free on ATM orders that include a processing plan; standard shipping fees are shown at checkout otherwise.
- What brands of ATM machines do you sell?
- We specialize in Nautilus Hyosung and Genmega ATMs, including the Hyosung Halo II and the Genmega Onyx-Wallmount, plus genuine and refurbished parts for these brands.

- Do you sell used ATM machines?
- We sell fully tested refurbished ATM machines. Availability of used units changes over time, so check our ATM machines for sale page or contact us for current stock.
- Do you sell refurbished ATM machines?
- Yes. Our refurbished ATMs are cleaned, bench-tested and re-certified, and are often fitted with a new keypad. They are EMV-ready and PCI compliant, and cost less than new machines.
- What is the difference between a new and refurbished ATM?
- A new ATM has the latest hardware, a full warranty and the longest service life, making it ideal for high-traffic locations. A refurbished ATM is a re-certified used machine offered at a lower price, well suited to lower-volume locations.

- Do you sell ATM parts?
- Yes. We stock new and refurbished Hyosung and Genmega ATM parts and accessories, including receipt printers, EPP keypads, cash cassettes, EMV card readers, cash dispensers, thermal paper and LED ATM signs.
- Can you source a part you do not list?
- Often, yes. We carry a full range of Hyosung and Genmega components. Call 1(866)687-4152 and we will source the part you need.
Technology & compliance
- What is an EMV ATM?
- An EMV ATM has a chip card reader that reads the secure chip on modern debit and credit cards. EMV reduces fraud and is the current standard for card acceptance in Canada. Every ATM we sell is EMV-ready.
- What is PCI compliance for ATMs?
- PCI compliance means the ATM meets the Payment Card Industry security standards for handling cardholder data, most importantly through a PCI-compliant encrypting PIN pad (EPP). All ATMs we sell ship with PCI-compliant keypads.
- How does ATM processing work?
- A processor connects your ATM to the banking and card networks. When a customer withdraws cash, the processor authorizes the transaction and settles the funds, depositing the cash dispensed plus your surcharge into your bank account, usually within a couple of business days.
Owning & operating
- How does an ATM surcharge work?
- The surcharge is a convenience fee the cardholder accepts on screen before withdrawing cash from a privately owned ATM. As the owner, you set the surcharge and keep it as revenue.
- How much money can an ATM machine make?
- Earnings depend on traffic and the surcharge you set. A C$2.50 surcharge on 10 withdrawals a day is roughly C$750 per month from one machine, before the modest cost of processing and paper.
- How much cash does an ATM hold?
- Capacity depends on the cassette. A standard 1,000-note cassette holds up to 1,000 bills, and high-capacity 2,000-note cassettes double that. In C$20 notes, a 1,000-note cassette can hold up to C$20,000.
- What maintenance does an ATM require?
- Day-to-day upkeep is mainly refilling cash and replacing receipt paper. Occasional servicing or parts replacement may be needed over time. We sell the parts and can advise on service.
